“Schools bring our language and our culture closer to the youth and help build a long lasting and resilient network of friends and partners of Germany”, said the former German Foreign Minister, Frank-Walter Steinmeier. The project „Schools: Partners for the Future“ known as „Pasch“ was initiated by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2008. It has been realized with the help of the Goethe- Institut and has since then developed in a very positive way in India. Pasch is a network connecting schools where German is taught to form a family of German learners around the world, offering for example the possibility of student and teacher exchanges, financial and material support and professional training for teachers.
As Pasch is clearly a success-story of Indo-German-cooperation and also a fine example of intercultural learning, it definitely earned its place in the Urban Mela. Do not miss the opportunity to hear about the Germany experiences of Indian exchange students from different Chennai schools! They will have more than one story to tell about their life with their German host families in Augsburg, their experiences during the international camp near Frankfurt or the visit to a partner school in Delhi!
