Creative Bags is a PASCH initiative to connect students - learning German as a foreign language - from around the world. Children and young adults can give free reign to their creativity and paint a bag based on the theme "My Impressions of Germany". The results of the contest will be recorded and photographed. The digital exhibition will be uploaded to the PASCH website making it possible to see which of the German students from around the world are inter-connected.
The Creative Bags competition at the Indo-German Urban Mela Pune is a prelude to the upcoming PASCH Pune project in the coming year - an exchange between Australian and Indian students learning German. Students from both countries get in touch via email and exchange discussions about their daily routines, schools, countries and so on - in German.
The Indian students paint a cloth bag on the topic "My Impression of Germany" and send it – along with a second, blank cloth bag - to the students in Australia. The Australian students paint the blank bags and send them back to India. The exchange results in each student having not only a cloth bag but also experiencing a foreign culture, and a foreign language.
PASCH is an initiative of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany and stands for Schülen: Partner der Zukunft. It is a worldwide network of around 1500 schools where German is significant. Modern Germany, its society and the German language should arouse interest in and enthusiasm in the youngsters.
The Goethe-Institut looks after around 500 PASCH schools in the national education system in over 100 countries. The PASCH offices worldwide organise activities that make learning German as a foreign language a vibrant and enriching experience.
